Create Your Own Pig Paper Bag Puppet! 🐷

Craft Tutorial with Emily & Scout

Is your little piggy ready for a crafty playtime adventure? In this easy step-by-step guide, we’ll show you how to create your very own Pig Paper Bag Puppet – just like Percy, who joins Penny the Pig for some muddy fun! This activity is perfect for young children and supports creativity, storytelling, and fine motor skills.

🧰 What You'll Need:

  • 1 brown paper bag

  • 1 glue stick

  • Scissors (with adult help)

  • Our Pig Puppet Template – available for free download below - (Make sure it's already cut out before you begin!)

🐽 Let’s Get Started:

1. Make the Body

  • Find the large rectangular body piece in your template.

  • Apply glue all over the back.

  • Line up the bottom of the rectangle with the bottom of the front of your paper bag (the side without the flap).

  • Slide it just under the flap and press it down firmly.

2. Add the Head

  • Grab the smaller rectangle – this is the head.

  • Glue the back and stick it to the flap of the paper bag, directly above the body piece.

  • Press down to secure.

3. Add the Nose

  • Find the pig nose piece and glue the back.

  • Stick it to the centre of the head, just above the body.

4. Add the Eyes

  • Glue the back of each eye.

  • Stick them above the nose, one on each side.

5. Add the Ears

  • Apply glue to the bottom (white tab) of each ear piece.

  • Flip the paper bag over.

  • Stick the ears to the top corners of the head from the back, so they peek over the top when you flip the puppet around again.

6. Add the Legs

  • Glue the back of the two leg pieces.

  • Stick them on the lower part of the body, one on each side, to create cute little pig legs.

7. Add the Tail

  • Take the curly pig tail and glue just the end.

  • Flip the bag to the back and stick the tail on one side so the curly end is visible from the front.

🎉 Meet Percy the Pig!

And there you have it – your very own pig puppet ready for playtime! Percy can now join Penny for endless muddy adventures and imaginative fun.
